Alexandria on the brink of peak Fall Colors

Tall trees with vibrant orange and red autumn leaves are seen from below in Alexandria on the brink of peak fall colors, their branches spreading against a bright blue sky as sunlight streams through the colorful canopy.

Our previous fall color update highlighted a few factors to consider when trying to guess when the colors will peak, as there is no way to know for sure with so many considerations and unpredictable weather. Typically by this time of year we would have had a few cooler nights, maybe even a light frost, which usually helps the colors progress faster. Up until recently we simply haven’t had many cool nights below 45-50 degrees. This could be why the colors have been taking their sweet time changing and falling off the trees. No complaints here! These next two photos are at Noonan Park, where the flowers are still beautiful and healthy among the backdrop of changing leaves.
