Spring Arrives with Clear Trails in Alexandria

A bicycle rests on a sunlit path in Alexandria beside leafless trees, overlooking a frozen lake where people ice fish beneath a clear blue sky as spring arrives with clear trails.

I’ve heard an old saying that “winter makes you appreciate summer much more.” I slightly disagree with that statement, as there are many activities and lots of beauty to enjoy throughout the winter season, especially in Alexandria. HOWEVER, one can’t deny the great feeling of going outside without a jacket for the first time after months of cold weather! Yep, the first day with temps over 50 degrees inevitably brings people outside to rediscover their spring senses. You can smell it in the gentle breeze, feel it in the warmer air, see it on the tiny trees buds and hear it as the geese honk overhead as they migrate back to the area. Alexandria had some very mild weather to help kick-start the spring season, and it’s a nice feeling to see people venturing out of their homes to hit the trails, sidewalks and streets to enjoy the mild atmosphere. Perhaps that is the collective feeling that the above quote is all about.
