Satisfy Your Autumn Appetite in Alexandria

A large orange pumpkin sits among green leaves in a pumpkin patch, tempting your Autumn Appetite. Another pumpkin and fields stretch into the background under a clear blue Alexandria sky.

Nothing says fall like a pumpkin patch, celebration of apple harvest, carved pumpkin contest, zombie pub crawl, a costume party and strolling through a quaint and festive downtown. What if I told you ALL that and more can be found in one weekend in Alexandria over EM break (aka: MEA weekend)? It’s true! Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a fun get-away!
Most people in Minnesota know about EM break (Education Minnesota Professional Conference). Most school-goers simply know it as a 4-day weekend. What better time to plan a little fall trip! In Alexandria, the fun may begin with a visit to the Pumpkin Patch at Erickson’s Petting Zoo. They have special hours on this weekend: Open 10am-5pm Thursday-Saturday and 12-5pm on Sunday (Oct 16th-19th). All other weeks they are open Sat-Sun.

It’s hard to ignore the fun when even the buildings smile!

Here you will find something in every corner. Pet and feed the cute animals in their petting zoo, find your way through the corn maze, take a family picture at one of their nice fall themed sets, get a ride on a pony, take a trolley ride out to the pick-your-own pumpkin patch,  stroll through the beautiful yard and shop a large variety of pumpkins and gourds. A great family outing!

Believe it or not, you can also buy these HUGE pumpkins!
