Peak Fall Colors Arriving Soon in Alexandria Area

Sunlight shines through a forest of tall trees with vibrant orange and yellow autumn leaves against a bright blue sky, as peak fall colors are arriving soon in Alexandria area, creating a warm and lively fall atmosphere.

The autumn season in the Alexandria lakes area continues to be absolutely delightful! The fall foliage season has been very long in the area and continues to be accompanied by mild, sunny days. A perfect equation for extremely enjoyable fall excursions! You will find some suggestions of great places to visit in the area here, and don’t forget to share your photos to win prizes!
The combination of sunny days and cooler nights have accelerated the turning colors in the leaves. Trees that have been slowly turning since mid September are beginning to see faster pacing of the autumn hues. Areas within the City are a little further along, perhaps in the 80% range, while more densely forested areas outside the City are looking to be closer to the 60-70% mark. The colors are looking great right now, as you will see in the following slides, so it’s safe to say that over the next week or so will be an excellent time to catch great displays of color. Take a look at the following photos (taken over the first week of October) and some places to check out. Have fun, stay connected, and keep Exploring!
