Art in the Park is Back

The popular two-day event at Alexandria City Park is back after a two-year absence.  Art in the Park features all kinds of art vendors, live music and food; all in a quaint park on the shores of Lake(s) Agnes and Henry in Alexandria.  First things first, Art in the Park starts Saturday, July 30th from 9am to 5pm followed up by Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.   Parking on site is $5, but the event itself is free. Art in the Park is a fundraiser for the Andria Theatre.

Art in the Park is one very important part of a very busy week and weekend in the Alexandria Lakes Area.  Just a few other events taking place during that time include the running of “Class of ’85” at Theatre L’Homme Dieu July 26-30, a Concert on the Courthouse Lawn (featuring “Hard Days Night”) July 28th at 7pm, the last of the COOL 94.3 Summer Concert Series at Copper Trail Brewing Co (Featuring “the Fabulous Armadillos”) VIP at 5:00pm, show starts at 6:00pm, Music in the Gardens on July 29th (featuring Mick Sterling) starting at 6:30 in the Legacy of the Lakes Garden.  Saturday the fun starts out at the Alexandria Golf Club for the 101st annual Resorters Golf Tournament.  Activity begins Saturday, July 30th at 2:00 pm with the 101st Resorters Pro-Am.  Regular play in the tournament begins bright and early Sunday, July 31st at 7:00am.  Play will continue all week with the championship rounds played on Saturday August 6th.  With 448 golfers in the tournament, some flights will be schedule for play at nearby Geneva Golf Club.  Other events during the week include the Calcutta on August 2nd at 6:30pm, a longest drive and putting contest Wednesday, August 3rd with both starting at 6:30pm.
