The Maple-Basswood Trail at Lake Carlos State Park is one of best trails in the area for seeking fall colors. Many of the trees still may have almost a couple weeks before peak, but this view overlooking the wildlife pond has plenty of red from the changing sumac. You may even see a whitetail deer or two!
