Fishing the Midwest Features Alexandria Walleyes

Two men in sunglasses and hats stand by a lake, smiling and holding up three fish they caught while fishing the Midwest. Trees and water are visible in the background under a cloudy sky.

It’s not often the case that bass fisherman Matt Gilbertson goes after walleye, but when Fishing the Midwest‘s Mike Frisch invited him to try out some early season spots, he couldn’t resist.

Matt was the 2022 Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce President and is a competitive bass fisherman as well. Although they practiced catch and release, in the latest edition of Fishing the Midwest Mike and Matt show us how to get catch a good meal of walleyes, in the middle of the day!

(The show was recorded back in early June of 2022).
