One of the premier stops to check out some great live music is Sixth Avenue Wine & Ale in downtown Alexandria. They feature a delicious food menu along with over 70 wines and 40 different beers and ales. Many of the brews and wines are difficult to find anywhere else in the area. Enjoying a fine glass of wine or ale along with some live music is a perfect blend of fun for an evening. Another consistent host of quality live music is the award-winning Carlos Creek Winery. As if sampling good wine, enjoying their walking paths, yard games and winery tours wasn’t enough…. they also have live music year around! Music is on Saturdays during the winter months and both Saturday and Sunday during the summer. A visit to Carlos Creek Winery is always a well-rounded fun experience, and ultra-fun if you plan to visit during the famous Grape Stomp or Applefest. There are many other opportunities to catch some tunes throughout the year. The Red Willow Arts Coalition brings in very good music acts from all around the region for free concerts every Thursday night on the courthouse lawn during the summer. Look for our upcoming blog on those concerts once the schedule is released. The fantastic seasonal restaurant Bug-a-boo Bay hosts numerous nights of music and dancing during the summer.
